Arthur Lorenzo is a talented and passionate dancer, teacher, and choreographer of forró.
Born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Arthur discovered his love for forró dance at the age of 14 when he participated in a social event at his school, Pé Descalço.
Since then, Arthur has dedicated his life to learning and teaching forró and has become one of the most sought-after instructors in Brazil and the world.

Bases from another rhythmic angle

We will explore possibilities of doing the basic movements of forró in rhythms different from the 1.2.3 that we are used to, bringing more possibilities and sensitivity to the dance.

REQUIREMENTS: Know how to do basic steps, simple walking, simple turning.

Body of Dance

We will explore different dance bodies based on the tempo of each song, bringing more coherence to the dance. 

REQUIREMENTS: Have 3 or more repertoires of 5 and 7 steps, be able to work different parts of the body in isolation, know how to turn in a line, simple walking and walking with a lock.

Rhythmic Creation

Let’s play with creating rhythms that don’t exist in music, but that have harmony, thus developing creativity, sensitivity, body awareness and body control.

REQUIREMENTS: Have 3 or more repertoires of 5 and 7 steps, be able to work different parts of the body in isolation, know how to turn in a line, simple walk, walking with a lock, be able to play with the music in 2 or more different elements (for example: zabumba and voice), being able to move around the room without major difficulties.

Displacement and its variations

Let’s explore the different types of displacements, to bring to the dance possibilities of a more fluid or more linear dance. 

REQUIREMENTS:  Know 1 or more repertoire(s) of 5 steps and know line spin.
